The need for professional design services for 90% of the world has been hugely overlooked. Architecture provides spaces that become a physical demonstration of a better future for those in hopeless situations.  In a humanitarian crisis, such as a natural disaster, architects are needed to coordinate the reconstruction of buildings and communities.

Architecture and design are powerful and effective tools that can alleviate poverty.  As an everyday architect, it is easy to forget how our skills and knowledge can benefit commoners who know nothing about the construction field.  Sharing our ‘ordinary’ skills and knowledge for those who cannot afford architectural design services (yet are in critical need of them) have the potential to not just simply brighten up their day, but also improve their lives and well-being.

Architecture and design can also be used to empower construction industry around the world to build towards a more sustainable future.  Stay tuned for more about sustainable humanitarian architecture!
